Today is the last day of term, we wish we were at the Teddy Bears’ Picnic but that isn’t possible, so let’s do some songs and a craft at home instead.

Today is also important as it is Susie’s last Friday with us. In 2014 all of the Toddlers’ Club leaders moved on to other things, and we were very concerned about whether the group could continue. We advertised for a leader for the group and Susie was literally the answer to our prayers.

She has been a wonderful friend to the leaders and to many of you, always caring for us, even when she has had worries of her own to carry.

Although she is crafty Susie, most of all she has been listening and praying Susie and we are so glad that she has been with us for six years.

We are aware that other leaders are considering their roles within Toddlers, and there will be a time to mark their contributions when we can be together in some form.
But today we send our love to Susie, we say thank you and we hope that you and Paul enjoy your retirement.

Let’s make something!

This week Amy has created a hidden art craft.

You will need:

White Wax Crayon or a candle

Plain White Paper

Watercolour paints

Paintbrush

Pot of water

1. Draw a hidden design on your plain paper with the wax crayon. A spider’s web works nicely but this could be a hidden picture or message.

2. Use your watercolour paints to and paint all over the paper. The hidden design should show through.

Have lots of fun creating hidden art!

You could also make a spider using an egg box and some pipecleaners for legs, just make three holes in each side of one of the egg holders and thread a pipecleaner across. You could also paint the cardboard and put some eyes on it.

Singing Time

Hair and shoulders, knees and toes
knees and toes
Hair and shoulders, knees and toes
knees and toes
and thighs and calves and heels and toes
Hair and shoulders, knees and toes

Incy wincy spider climbed up the waterspout,
Down came the rain and washed the spider out,
Out came the sun and dried up all the rain,
So Incy wincy spider climbed up the spout again.

Row row row your boat, gently down the stream
merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, life is but a dream

Row row row your boat, over to the shore
If you see a lion, don’t forget to roar

Row row row your boat, gently down the river
If you see a polar bear don’t forget to shiver

Row row row your boat, gently down the stream
If you see a crocodile, don’t forget to scream

Row row row you boat as fast as you can go
If you want to win the race, row and row and row

You put your left arm in
Your left arm out
In, out, in, out
You shake it all about
You do the hokey cokey
And you turn around
That’s what it’s all about
Woah, the hokey cokey
Woah, the hokey cokey
Woah, the hokey cokey
Knees bent
Arms stretched
Ra-ra-ra

You put your right arm in
Your right arm out

You put your whole self in
Your whole self out
