Hello again, I hope you are all keeping busy, we will miss seeing you again today, but we are thinking about you and praying that you will all keep safe.
This morning the leaders are all going to meet on Zoom and have a cup of coffee together.

This week we thought that you might like to make a musical instrument and do some marching round.

I used things which I had at home, finding the right things is part of the fun.

If you are awake at 8pm on Thursday you could join in with the Clapping, or maybe video yourself clapping and shaking your instruments.

You will find lots of ideas for musical instruments on the internet.

To make a shaker you will need
a container – a plastic bottle, a yoghurt pot or a pringles tub would be good.
something to rattle inside – bird seed, 5p pieces or lego would all work but don’t put any of them in your mouth
a cover – cellophane, tissue or ordinary paper plus an elastic band
decoration – you could colour a strip of paper to cover the plastic, stick shapes on with glue, paint is tricky with plastic so best to put something round the container.

How to do it
Begin by decorating the container, either use a strip of paper and attach it or glue things to the outside.
Work out what will fit inside, usually about a quarter or a third full is enough.
Cut the cover into a circle and attach it with an elastic band. Make sure the cover is strong enough to resist vigorous shaking.

Play some music and march around (when it has dried!)

When we march at Toddlers’ Club we listen to:

* Colonel Hathi Elephant March – Jungle Book Songs

* The Grand old Duke of York

* One finger, one thumb keep moving

Don’t forget our favourite songs
Hair and shoulders, knees and toes
