Hello everyone, this week there is a weather theme. I hope that if it is raining you have some wellies ready to jump in puddles.

We know that we won’t be meeting this term, but we don’t know yet what next term will look like. If you have any ideas we would love to hear from you. We are certain that we won’t be able to have 80+ people in the hall each week, and we want to make plans, but we have to wait to see what the guidance says.

Some of us met up on zoom last night, and we are planning to do it again soon – info to follow.

If you would like to chat about the future of Toddlers, or you want to talk to someone who doesn’t live in the same four walls, do get in touch.

Let’s begin with our craft

Today Amy has created a weather station.

You will need:

Paper

A Plate

A Peg

Scissors

Glue

Ruler

Any decorative items collected from around your house

1. Draw around a plate on two separate pieces of paper.

2. Use your ruler and divide one of the circles into segments (like a pizza). We divided ours into quarters.

3. Cut out your segments and decorate each one to represent different types of weather. You can use cotton wool, paint, paper, glitter… Anything you have!

4. Glue your completed weather segments onto the full circle and cut it out.

Finally cut out an arrow shape and glue it to a peg. This is your marker – place the peg on the segment that best describes the weather outside your window!

Are you ready for some songs that are about the weather?

First of all we need to do some stretches,
Can you reach the sky?
Can you curl up in a ball?
Are you ready to jump as high as you can?

Hair and shoulders, knees and toes
knees and toes
Hair and shoulders, knees and toes
knees and toes
and thighs and calves and heels and toes
Hair and shoulders, knees and toes

Incy wincy spider
Incy wincy spider climbed up the waterspout,
Down came the rain and washed the spider out,
Out came the sun and dried up all the rain,
So Incy wincy spider climbed up the spout again.

The wheels on the bus go round and round,
Round and round,
Round and round
The wheels on the bus go round and round
All day long.

The wipers on the bus go swish, swish, swish

The horn on the bus goes beep, beep, beep

The children on the bus go wriggle, wriggle, wriggle

The doors on the bus go open and shut

This is a new song that we haven’t sung at Toddlers’ Club but the tune is Frere Jacques

What’s the weather, what’s the weather?
Can you tell, Can you tell?
Is the sun shining, is the rain falling?
Can you tell, Can you tell?
