Good morning, this photo is from last year’s party, and it is hard to remember a time when we could all sit so close together.
But for now we are preparing this page each week as we want to keep in touch with you all.
If you want a chat let us have your number and we will ring you back.
When I wrote this it was raining, so I thought we should sing some songs with lots of actions, in case you can’t go outside to play.
But let’s start with a craft activity as we always do on Friday mornings.
Let’s make a picture of a vase
Thanks to Liz for today’s idea.
What you need
2 pieces of paper (preferably different colours)
Scissors and glue
Wax crayons, pencils,Felt tip pens
Flowers – either ones you draw or you could cut some out of a magazine
Fold the paper in half and draw the shape of the vase against the fold. (This means it will be symmetrical). Use the scissors to cut it out.
Decorate the vase, this is a complex pattern but you could put paint on half of the vase and then fold it over (as we did with the butterflies)
You could ‘take a pencil for a walk’, draw a line on the paper without lifting the pencil, this will give you loops to colour or to fill with patterns.
Stick the vase onto the second piece of paper.
Draw some stems for the flowers.
You could draw flowers or cut them out of a magazine or newspaper.
This would make a lovely card if you make the vase a little smaller and stick it onto an A4 piece of card which you have folded in half.
If your family knows someone who is living alone, why not pop it through their door.
(Don’t forget to wash hands thoroughly before you start, and stay safe)
Shall we do some singing?
We always have to begin by stretching as high as you can, now curl up small and jump into the air!
Hair and shoulders, knees and toes
knees and toes
Hair and shoulders, knees and toes
knees and toes
and thighs and calves and heels and toes
Hair and shoulders, knees and toes
Round and round the garden
like a Teddy Bear
One step
Two steps
Tickle you under there
Five naughty monkeys jumping on the bed
One fell off and bumped his head
Mummy called the doctor
And the doctor said
No more monkeys jumping on the bed
Four naughty monkeys jumping on the bed
One fell off and bumped her head
Daddy called the doctor
And the doctor said,
No more monkeys jumping on the bed
Three naughty . . .
Two naughty . . .
One naughty monkey . . .
See the little bunnies sleeping til it’s nearly noon
Shall we wake them with a merry tune?
They’re so still, are they ill?
No! Wake up bunnies!
Hop little bunnies, hop, hop, hop
Hop little bunnies, hop, hop, hop
Hop little bunnies, hop, hop, hop
Hop little bunnies, hop and stop
You put your right arm in
Your right arm out
In, out, in, out
You shake it all about
You do the hokey cokey
And you turn around
That’s what it’s all about
Woah, the hokey cokey
Woah, the hokey cokey
Woah, the hokey cokey
Knees bent
Arms stretched
Ra-ra-ra
You put your left leg in
Your left leg out
In, out, in, out
You shake it all about
You do the hokey cokey
And you turn around
That’s what it’s all about
Woah, the hokey cokey
Woah, the hokey cokey
Woah, the hokey cokey
Knees bent
Arms stretched
Ra-ra-ra
You put your whole self in
Your whole self out
In, out, in, out
You shake it all about
You do the hokey cokey
And you turn around
That’s what it’s all about
Woah, the hokey cokey
Woah, the hokey cokey
Woah, the hokey cokey
Knees bent
Arms stretched
Ra-ra-ra
We know that this time can be very hard particularly if you are trying to home school the children and are worried about work, whether the children should go to nursery or school plus the concerns about staying well.
Last week was the end of the month and payday for a lot of people, but some of us received reduced pay or no pay.
If you are in difficulty please register with the Harborough Community Hub, (you can click for the link) they have all of the information about benefits and support, they can also make a referral to the Jubilee Foodbank. The Foodbank is getting extra support from places like B&M and the Thursday night convoy specifically to help people who are affected by the virus, because they are ill, they are isolating or their work has stopped.
Don’t forget that you can get in touch with us as well.
