Hello again everyone, this week we have got a transport theme.
I hope that some of you have been able to travel to see grandparents or friends, or maybe go to a park a bit further away. If you are by a river don’t forget to watch out for lions, polar bears and crocodiles.
Some of you who have been a part of Toddlers for a long time will remember that Amy used to prepare our craft activities for us before she moved away. We are really pleased that she has offered to create some activities which we can share with you on here, THANK YOU AMY
This week we are making a card
I have created a car craft that can double as a Father’s Day card.
You will need:
– Paper or Card
– Scissors
– Glue
– Sticky Tape
– Pencil Crayons etc. (to decorate)
1. Draw two identical car outlines on paper (many templates are available online)
2. On one template add 2cm wide rectangles to the bonnet and boot of the car (see photo below). These will become tabs to create the car doors.
3. Draw and cut out windows on the car template with the tabs. Then cut this template in half vertically.
4. Place the two door pieces on top of the whole car template and fold the tabs over to the back. Tape these in place.
5. Draw around your glue stick (or a small coin) and cut out circle faces. Decorate these circles to create the faces of your family members or you could use photos of your family.
6. Glue these faces inside the car so you can see them through the windows. Decorate the front car as you wish.
These are perfect for Father’s Day cards, or to say thank you to someone who has been delivering food, or for someone who is learning to drive.
Time for singing
Time to stretch up high
and then crouch down as small as you can,
now JUMP up into the air.
Hair and shoulders, knees and toes
knees and toes
Hair and shoulders, knees and toes
knees and toes
and thighs and calves and heels and toes
Hair and shoulders, knees and toes
Row row row your boat, gently down the stream
merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, life is but a dream
Row row row your boat, over to the shore
If you see a lion, don’t forget to roar
Row row row your boat, gently down the river
If you see a polar bear don’t forget to shiver
Row row row your boat, gently down the stream
If you see a crocodile, don’t forget to scream
Row row row you boat as fast as you can go
If you want to win the race, row and row and row
The wheels on the bus go round and round,
Round and round,
Round and round
The wheels on the bus go round and round
All day long.
The wipers on the bus go swish, swish, swish
The horn on the bus goes beep, beep, beep
The children on the bus go wriggle, wriggle, wriggle
The doors on the bus go open and shut
