Dementia Harborough, a group which has used our building for many years, has very generously donated a heart defibrillator for the benefit of all the users of our premises and our local community.
It has been mounted outside the building to the right of the entrance to the Centre so it is accessible 24 hours a day.
If you need to use it, ring 999 immediately and the call handler will talk you through the initial stages and give you the code to open the nearest defibrillator, the device also gives instructions to follow.
We are encouraging as many people as possible to follow the free British Heart Foundation online training to save a life which covers CPR and using the device which is available here, approximately 15 minutes duration.
We are very grateful to Dementia Harborough and to members of our congregation who have taken on the responsibility of maintaining the defibrillator.
Dementia Harborough supports people affected by dementia in Market Harborough and the surrounding areas including the Dementia Café, a Singing for Memories Group and trips out to places of interest. They are also involved with other local charity groups and agencies to help improve the services available to everyone living with the effects of dementia.
