A huge thank you to everyone who has sent us photos of the children using the bags, we have loved seeing them, when you are cutting out the 160th raindrop for a mobile, it is really good to know how much they have been appreciated!

Thanks to Jane, Jane, Jane, Jenny, Leslie, Liz, Susie, Nikki and Vikki (plus assorted husbands) for preparing the 33 activities since we began in October. We are hoping that the May bag will be the last one and from now on we will be able to meet up in some format each week during school terms.

If you would like to come along to one of the test sessions on Friday mornings you need to go to our facebook group and sign up. You will be able to see who else is going to each of the sessions and hopefully catch up with friends, or make some new ones.

What shall we make today?

Rabbit

Decorate your rabbit – colouring, stickers or even paint!

Colour the carrot and stick the green crepe paper around the top for the leaves.

Push the carrot through the slots in the right arm.

Bend the feet forward and the base backwards so that the rabbit stands up.

Glue the ears above the eyes and the tail at the bottom of the back of the rabbit.

Your rabbit may need to be propped up to stop it falling over!

Let’s do some stretching before we start to sing

Hair and shoulders, knees and toes
knees and toes
Hair and shoulders, knees and toes
knees and toes
and thighs and calves and heels and toes
Hair and shoulders, knees and toes

If you are happy and you know it
Clap your hands
If you’re happy and you know it
and you really want to show it
Clap your hands
If you are happy and you know it
Clap your hands

If you’re happy and you know it
Nod your head,
Stamp your Feet
Shout we are

Do all four

See the little bunnies sleeping til it’s nearly noon
Shall we wake them with a merry tune?
They’re so still, are they ill?
No! Wake up bunnies!
Hop little bunnies, hop, hop, hop
Hop little bunnies, hop, hop, hop
Hop little bunnies, hop, hop, hop
Hop little bunnies, hop and stop

When all the cows were sleeping
And the sun had gone to bed
Up jumped the scarecrow
And this is what he said

Chorus:

I’m a dingle, dangle scarecrow
With a great big floppy hat
I can shake my hands like this
And I can shake my feet like that

When all the hens were roosting
And the moon behind a cloud
Up jumped the scarecrow
And shouted very loud

Chorus

When dogs were in the kennels
And doves were in the loft
Up jumped the scarecrow
And whispered very soft

Chorus

We ‘sang along’ to this song in church a couple of Sundays ago – we didn’t really, because we are not allowed to sing, but if you have musical instruments you can dance and shake shakers like we did.
It is the only hymn I know with a narwhal and an armadillo in it.

Happy birthday

Happy birthday to everyone with a birthday this week, we hope you can find special things to do to celebrate.

Leo is four on Tuesday

At the point I’m writing this, the first of our three sessions is full, but there are spaces on 18th and 25th June. Please sign up on our facebook group.

The numbers are restricted to 15 families, there will be bikes, and most of our usual toys, there will be a craft activity and some marching and actions for songs – but no singing. We are providing drinks but you will need to bring a snack for your child. We will be keeping names and phone numbers for track and trace, the leaders have had both vaccines and use lateral flow tests each week. We will need you to keep a distance from other adults and of course sanitise and stay away if you have symptoms. We want to meet and we want it to be safe for us all.

Hope you have a lovely week, particularly if you are on half term, thank you for being with us during the last fourteen months.

Jenny, Vikki, Jane, Liz and Nikki.
