Don’t know whether this rabbit has made it as far as a park yet.

I hope that you have all had a good Easter, we were delighted to see some of you on Monday morning to plant the Easter Garden. We made good use of the garden during the week with a communion service in the dark on Thursday and on Saturday night people had the opportunity to put a jar on the steps with someone’s name on it who has died during the last year. We lit candles in them all and it was very moving, but good to be able to remember people who we love. As Christians Easter is very important for us as we believe that when Jesus rose from the dead he gave us all hope of eternal life.

I haven’t seen any stones around town yet, has anybody hidden one that I can go and find?

Thanks to Nikki for this week’s cutting out, who do you know who would appreciate a butterfly card through the post?

This week we are making butterflies

This week’s activity is from Iheartcraftythings, which is a website full of really lovely crafts, why not have a look at it for some great ideas.

Take two cut out butterfly templates and lay them face up.  Use colouring pens, pencils, stickers to decorate the butterfly wings.
Fold the butterfly wings in half and decorate one of the outside wings with your markers. (You only need to decorate one side because the other side will be glued to the paper and won’t be visible)
Add glue to the bottom of the folded butterfly wings and glue it onto the card.
Add five large round labels at the base of the butterfly wings to create the butterfly body.
Glue a small googly eye onto the face of the butterfly. Then use markers to draw a smile and antennae onto your 3D paper butterfly craft. If you want to add more decoration, draw colourful flowers on the card under the butterflies

Time to sing

Hair and shoulders, knees and toes
knees and toes
Hair and shoulders, knees and toes
knees and toes
and thighs and calves and heels and toes
Hair and shoulders, knees and toes

The tune for this song is The wheels on the bus

The Bees in the flowers go buzz, buzz, buzz
Buzz, buzz, buzz, buzz, buzz, buzz
The bees in the flowers go buzz, buzz, buzz,
All around the town.

The ants in the grass go march, march, march.

The crickets in the leaves go chirp, chirp, chirp.

The caterpillar in the field goes creep, creep, creep.

When all the cows were sleeping
And the sun had gone to bed
Up jumped the scarecrow
And this is what he said

Chorus:
I’m a dingle, dangle scarecrow
With a great big floppy hat
I can shake my hands like this
And I can shake my feet like that.

When all the hens were roosting
And the moon behind a cloud
Up jumped the scarecrow
And shouted very loud

Chorus

When dogs were in the kennels
And doves were in the loft
Up jumped the scarecrow
And whispered very soft

Chorus

Happy birthday

Happy birthday to everyone who is celebrating this week.

Darwin is going to be 4

Kitty who is also going to be 4

Sophie who is going to be 3.

We hope you and your families are able to make this a special day.

We hope that we will be able to meet up outside at the beginning of May again, the limit of 15 should still be in place so we may have to offer sessions to pick up the bags, but we will get the May bags to you somehow.

It was great to hear how people are using the bags, some people have a morning when they do everything, other people are spacing it out, some people are waiting till big brothers and sisters are there to join in. However you are using them we are really glad to hear that they are useful.

Don’t forget to get in touch if you need someone for a chat, or share some photos of what you have been making.
