This week we are making a mobile, it definitely will need some grown up help with the threads, but there is also sticking and colouring, so hopefully it will be as popular as the lions from a couple of weeks ago.
We are distributing bags next Friday and Saturday on the church steps and there will be a simple activity for the children. You need to book in via our facebook group for a slot so that we don’t have too many people at the same time – the guieline is still 15 for Parent and Toddlers groups meeting outside. If you have any problems with booking a slot please email.
What shall we make today?
Instructions for Rainbow Mobile
Colour the rainbow both sides.
Stick the cotton wool onto the clouds both sides.
Colour the handle of the umbrella, then stick the spots onto the umbrella both sides.
Glue the sun rays onto one circle of the sun, don’t put the other sun circle on yet.
Cut off 3 lengths of the thread, approx. 20cm each. Tie one length from the bottom hole of the rainbow to the top of the umbrella and the other two lengths on the bottom holes of the umbrella. Tie the remaining piece to the top hole of the rainbow to hang the whole mobile.
Stick the sun onto one of the umbrella threads by sandwiching it between the sun-circles. Stick the rain drops onto the other umbrella thread by sandwiching it between two rain drops (see photos).

The tune for this song is Frere Jacque
What’s the weather, what’s the weather?
Can you tell, Can you tell?
Is the sun shining, is the rain falling?
Can you tell, Can you tell?
The wheels on the bus go round and round,
Round and round,
Round and round
The wheels on the bus go round and round
All day long.
The wipers on the bus go swish, swish, swish
The horn on the bus goes beep, beep, beep
The children on the bus go wriggle, wriggle, wriggle
The doors on the bus go open and shut
Happy birthday
Two birthdays this week, so a very happy birthday to
George who will be three
Alice who is also three.
We hope you find ways to celebrate your special days.
On 15th May we are raising funds for Christian Aid by offering a Big Brekkie on a bike, a breakfast bag will be delivered to your house for a donation of £5 a bag, it will contain things like Cereal, fruit, croissant or baked goods, fruit juice and tea bag.
People from all the town churches are being invited to take part, but there is a limit to the number of bags we can produce, so if you want to do something different on a Saturday morning, email or message using the usual contacts and we will pass your order on. It will probably be easiest if you could donate when you pick your Toddlers’ bag up on 7th or 8th.
Looking forward to seeing you next week, don’t forget to tell us which session you want to join to pick up the activity bag and join in with the simple activity.
