We hope that you enjoy making penguins this week, did you know that some penguins live in South Africa and Namibia? Older children might like to look on a map and find out where they live.

We are busy sorting out the bags this weekend ready for collection next Friday and Saturday, sadly we don’t think we can justify having the gazebo out this month, so the regular pick-ups are in place. It is never too early to book a bag for April!!

Thanks to Susie and Jane W for this week’s penguins, we would love to see photos of them when you have finished, we might be able to make a collage of them.

What shall we make? PENGUINS!

Take the black body shape….stick the white piece onto it. Leave a space at the top of the head.
Stick on the orange beak and stick on some googly eyes or draw some on with a black pen.
Stick the orange feet at the bottom of the body and fold them forward.
Now take the long thin black piece and make a fold of about 2cm at each end.
Stick the other piece slightly higher up to make a sticky out support.

Your penguin should be able to stand up on its own.

Penguins have a really funny way of walking. If you don’t know how they walk see if you can find a youtube clip to watch.

Can you walk like a penguin?

I wonder what noise they make?

Pretend to be a penguin!

Time for singing, can you stretch before we begin?

Hair and shoulders, knees and toes
knees and toes
Hair and shoulders, knees and toes
knees and toes
and thighs and calves and heels and toes
Hair and shoulders, knees and toes

Five naughty monkeys bouncing on the bed
One fell off and bumped his head
Mummy phoned the Doctor
The Doctor said
NO MORE MONKEYS BOUNCING ON THE BED

Four naughty monkeys bouncing on the bed
One fell off and bumped her head
Daddy phoned the Doctor
The Doctor said
NO MORE MONKEYS BOUNCING ON THE BED

Three naughty……..

Two naughty……..

One naughty……..

You put your left arm in
Your left arm out
In, out, in, out
You shake it all about
You do the hokey cokey
And you turn around
That’s what it’s all about
Woah, the hokey cokey
Woah, the hokey cokey
Woah, the hokey cokey
Knees bent
Arms stretched
Ra-ra-ra

You put your right arm in
Your right arm out

You put your whole self in
Your whole self out

See the little bunnies sleeping til it’s nearly noon
Shall we wake them with a merry tune?
They’re so still, are they ill?
No! Wake up bunnies!
Hop little bunnies, hop, hop, hop
Hop little bunnies, hop, hop, hop
Hop little bunnies, hop, hop, hop
Hop little bunnies, hop and stop

Happy birthday

We don’t have anybody with a birthday this week, I’m not sure that can be right, so if it is your special day we hope that you have a day filled with love whether you are 2, 22 or 72!

It is always good to hear from you, we love to see photos.
If you have children who are at school we hope that you find fun things to do this week before they go back.
This week I’ve felt a bit more optimistic about being able to make plans and to see the family, we just need to keep on swimming, to quote Dory. We are doing really well, us ‘oldies’ are full of admiration for the way that you are coping, the older members of our church have had vaccinations and are beginning to think about picking up the lives which they put on hold a year ago. We CAN do this!
We’re continuing to pray for you all, that you can find the patience you need, the energy and the fun.
Don’t forget you can get in touch.
