Welcome to another week online. Thank you to everyone who shared in our birthday last Friday and sent photos of the children with their cakes.

Our thanks to Liz for this week’s snowflakes, everything you need is in the activity bag, but you will be able to make them even if you don’t have the bag.

What shall we make this week?

How to make the snow flake.
1 Fold the circle into 4.
2 Cut shapes into the edges with scissors. (Triangle shapes are the easiest)
3 The toddler will love opening up the symmetrical snowflake.
4 Cut out the second circle provided.
5 Repeat the process with this second circle
6 Place the tissue paper between the first two circles.
7 Glue together the three layers.
8 Trim the tissue paper level with the white paper circles.
9 Hang using cotton, maybe in a window.
(Some tips! You might like to make more of these, using a cup or tin can to make the circles. You could experiment with folding the paper into six which is more true to nature.)

Singing time

Why not jump up and down and get ready to sing?
Hair and shoulders, knees and toes
knees and toes
Hair and shoulders, knees and toes
knees and toes
and thighs and calves and heels and toes
Hair and shoulders, knees and toes

This song has got an animal in it that loves the snow.

Row row row your boat, gently down the stream
merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, life is but a dream

Row row row your boat, over to the shore
If you see a lion, don’t forget to roar

Row row row your boat, gently down the river
If you see a polar bear don’t forget to shiver

Row row row your boat, gently down the stream
If you see a crocodile, don’t forget to scream

Row row row you boat as fast as you can go
If you want to win the race, row and row and row

The tune for this song is Frere Jacque
What’s the weather, what’s the weather?
Can you tell, Can you tell?
Is the sun shining, is the rain falling?
Can you tell, Can you tell?

Happy birthday

The times are at the bottom of the page, please let us know when you would like to pick up the bag.
Thank you for your donations when you pick up the bag, we have sent £135 to Homestart South Leicestershire so far.
There is a Facebook group for people who are using the activity bags or following the pages, if you search in groups for MHCC Toddlers’ Online you will have three questions to answer and then you will be able to join the group. The contents are only visible to people who join the group.
