Thank you to everyone who has hidden a stone, I know that some are in gardens and some have gone to Grannies and one is outside St Dyonysius Church. Keep looking for them though.

We hope you enjoy making the lion’s faces today.

Do you remember how to play sleeping lions? It is a great way to have a few minutes peace, although I never realised there were hunters in the game – you may want to ignore that or change the name.

Have all of the children (except one or two hunters) lie down on the floor in sleeping positions.
Once they are settled, they are not allowed to move – you might use the language “freeze” so they fully understand the object of the game.
The hunters walk through the room and try to make the sleeping lions move by making them laugh, telling them jokes, and so on.
However, the hunters are not allowed to touch the lions.
Once any lion moves they are tapped and get up and join the hunters.
The last child still on the floor wins!

What shall we make today?

How to make a lion’s face

  1. Colour in the centre of the paper plate using either pencil crayons or felt tip pens.
  2. Stick on the orange and yellow mane pieces around the outside of the plate.
  3. Stick the inner ear to the out ear, then stick onto the lion’s face.
  4. Stick on the nose and draw on the eyes, mouth and freckles.
  5. Glue on whiskers.

Let’s have a good stretch and then we can sing

Hair and shoulders, knees and toes
knees and toes
Hair and shoulders, knees and toes

and thighs and calves and heels and toes
Hair and shoulders, knees and toes

Five naughty monkeys bouncing on the bed
