Hello again, I hope that this has been a good week for those of you who are doing the school run, and that the children have settled happily.
The pick ups of the March bags went very smoothly, thank you everyone, and we hope that you are enjoying the activities. When we started Toddlers’ Club 30 years ago, Jean used to always do the Mothering Sunday activities so that it was a surprise for us Mums. We can’t help this year but if it is is possible, try to get someone else to help with this week’s activity – and don’t look at the instructions!
This year even more than most Mums and Dads deserve a huge round of applause, you have done so well to get this far, I’m sure that it hasn’t all been sunshine and light, but we hope that you will have some great memories of the different things that you have done this year.
The next bags will be available on Saturday 27th and Monday 29th March, this is because on the Monday we can have upto 15 adults at a pre-school group outside. So we will be there with the gazebo giving out the bags and having a chat, and if you have time you can help us to plant our Easter garden.
Saturday bags will be on the steps at the usual venues 9.30-3.pm and on Monday we will be there from 10-11.30am, you do need to let us know if you want to come on Monday. The easiest way to find out all of the info is on our Facebook Group MHCC Toddlers Online
What shall we make?
Instructions for Mother’s Day Sunflower
Colour in the flower pot wrapper and stick it around the pot.
Make the sunflower by scrunching up the squares of tissue paper and sticking the yellow on the petals and the black in the centre.
Colour the lolly stick green and attach it to the back of your sunflower.
Pour the compost into your flower pot.
Using your finger to make a small hole, plant the sunflower seeds in the pot.
Carefully water your seeds and place your ready-made sunflower in the pot.
Enjoy looking after your seeds and watching them grow.
Let’s do some stretches before we begin singing.
Hair and shoulders, knees and toes
knees and toes
Hair and shoulders, knees and toes
knees and toes
and thighs and calves and heels and toes
Hair and shoulders, knees and toes
One of the songs we sometimes sing at church is called Thank you Lord for this fine day, and we usually change the words to say thank you for things that are good. This would be a good time to sing Thank you Lord for my Mummy and then a verse for my Daddy, Granny, pet rabbit, bananas anything you like. It will stick inside your head, sorry!
Thank You Lord for this fine Day,
Thank You Lord for this fine Day,
Thank You Lord for this fine Day,
Right were we are.
Alleluia Praise the Lord,
Alleluia Praise the Lord,
Alleluia Praise the Lord,
Right were we are.
Oats and beans and barley grow
Oats and beans and barley grow,
Not you, nor I, nor anyone know,
How oats and beans and barley grow.
First the farmer sows the seed,
Then he stands and takes his ease,
Stamps his feet and claps his hand,
And turns around to view the land.
You can watch it on this BBC Teach link, don’t forget to join in the actions with the farmer.
Round and round the garden
Like a teddy bear
One step
Two steps
Tickle you under there
Happy birthday
This week we have one person on the list who would normally be at Toddlers’ Club, but we do have Malachi and Ted who are going to be five and will be at school.
Happy birthday to Ayda who will be 2 on Thursday.
We hope that everyone with a birthday finds ways to make it a special day.
Let me know if your child’s birthday is coming up and I will add them to the list.
There are lots of ways to keep in touch with us, we love to hear from you.
