Hello everyone,
I hope that everyone is keeping well and that you finding things to do to fill your days.
We are beginning to think about Easter this week with our chicken, an egg shell reminds Christians of the tomb that Jesus was placed in before he came back to life on Easter Sunday, and of course chicks are a sign of new life.

Thanks to Liz and Leslie for this weeks activity.

We’re collecting names for April activity bags which are being given out on Saturday 27th and Monday 29th March. We hope that you will come along on Monday morning between 10 and 11.30 to pick up your bag and to help us to plant our Easter Garden. You do need to let us know by Sunday night so that we can quarantine the bags in the right places. The pick up times are at the bottom of the page.

What shall we make today?

How to assemble the Easter Chicken in the Egg.
( Please note. The envelope contains a split pin which should be removed first and put somewhere safe.
If you don’t wish to use the split pin with your child, you can use a piece of string or wool for the hinge instead. )
1 Let your child colour the chicken with yellow crayons or felt tips. The beak could be orange.
2 The shell could have patterns on.
Maybe you could draw big loops and let your child colour them in, or your child could do wiggly lines.
If you are feeling brave you could put glue on the egg-shell then scatter rice on top!
3 Using your chosen fastening ( string, wool, split pin ) join the two pieces using the punched holes.
4 Now the egg opens and closes.
5 If you wish to keep the egg-shell closed when not in use, you can lock the zigzags together at the unhinged side.

Shall we wriggle before we start singing today?

Hair and shoulders, knees and toes

Do you know chick chick chick chick chicken? Do you want to learn it? Mr Tumble sings and signs it here.

Chick, chick, chick, chick, chicken,
Lay a little egg for me!
Chick, chick, chick, chick, chicken,
I want one for my tea,
I haven’t had an egg since Easter,
And now it’s half past three,
So, chick, chick, chick, chick, chicken,
Lay a little egg for me!

After all this time I’ve found this page which gives you the sound of every animal that we could need except flamingoes which were one of the children’s favourites.

Happy Birthday
