Good morning another Friday morning and time to pretend we are at Toddlers’ Club, it is odd and lovely that lots of you who have the bags have never been on a Friday morning, but we do hope that you feel that you are part of our group.
It is so lovely to have your photos so we can see what you are doing.
We are having another leaders meeting this afternoon, so I will try and get a photo of us all together on zoom.
I’m glad that we are making stars this week, as we all need to be reminded that there is light in the darkness, as Christians we believe that the darkness can’t overcome the light, and the light is Jesus. Even on days like yesterday when we realised that we are going to be in Tier 3 for a while, we have hope and our faith that God will not abandon us keeps us going.

What shall we make today? We’ve got two ideas for stars

Chalk pattern.

Place the two paper stars on a separate sheet of A4 paper. ( You might like to use tiny pieces of sticky paper or Bluetack to hold them down so that your hands are free to help your child)

Use the side of the chalk to cover the edge where the star meets the A4 paper. It is best to press the chalk outwards from the centre of the star towards the A4 paper.

Your little one will enjoy lifting the masking star to reveal the star pattern! You can do several of these.

*Remember to use the side of the chalk for this activity!

If you have older children, instead of chalk they can use a stiff bristled paint brush, or an old toothbrush, with a small amount of paint on, then brush across the masking star to make the pattern.

Cut out the 2 stars which are pre-drawn on the white card.
Decorate with pens, crayons, paint etc
Cut each star half way, stopping at the centre point. ( You might like to practise first with stars cut from magazine or catalogue paper. )
Assemble the star.
You might want to hang the star on your tree or in a window using a needle and a length of thread.

*You could use cardboard from a cereal packet to make extra stars. Cut round a star provided and stick white paper on each side.

Time for singing

Stand up tall and wiggle your fingers like stars in the sky,
curl up very small,
now jump up as if you are a rocket going into the sky.
Are you ready for singing?

And he shook his head,
And he said “Miss Polly,
Put her straight to bed.”

He wrote on the paper
For a pill, pill, pill
“I’ll be back in the morning
Yes I will, will, will.”

This is another week where we don’t have any names on our birthday list, but if it is yours we hope that you find ways to make the day special.

December bags as I type this we have six bags which are available, so please get in touch as soon as possible if you want another one – you do have to let us know each month preferrably by email.
We’re not making a charge for the bags but we hope that you will think about making a donation to HomeStart South Leics. There will be a jar with the bags when you collect yours.
I will update the site tomorrow night, but we won’t be able to have the stall at the front of church, and I will let you know what the plan is but collection will be Friday and Saturday mornings next week.
