It has been lovely to see your photos of craft making. Please keep sending them to us, thank you to F, L and T for sending us acorns, eggheads, poppies and scratching cards.
This week we are making a rocket, thanks to Susie for preparing it.
In October we prepared 20 bags, in November we increased to 25 and we had to say no to 10 families, so for December we are making 40, please let us know if you would like one, don’t assume that because you have had one before you are on the list, you do need to register each time.
We are really pleased that the bags are popular, when we had our zoom meeting to plan December we talked about how busy the hall was on the weeks when we had forty families, and how good it is to be in contact with so many of you.
We do miss the busyness of those mornings and hearing how your week has been.
What shall we make today?
This activity doesn’t really need words, it is almost like a jigsaw fitting the pieces together. We have noticed that some people have got two left hand fins, you could turn one over and colour it in or you could have two colour fins.
The European Space Agency website has a children’s section if your child is interested in space, which is worth exploring (the website and space both worth exploring!).
If you are up very early you may be able to see the space station going overhead, you can get alerts which tell you the best time to see it.
Time to sing
Are you ready to sing, shall we warm up first using our rockets?
Take the rocket right up into the sky, stretch as far as you can.
Now take the rocket round the earth, spin round, but don’t fall over.
Let’s bring the rocket down to earth, and put it down on the floor.
