Welcome to our worship this morning, we are glad that you are with us, even if we can’t see each other we know that we are united by our love for Jesus Christ.
If you are new to watching things on line…..
At each stage in the service there is a triangular play button you will need to click, either in the image of the song or on the left hand side of the black bar.
If you can’t hear check the loudspeaker symbol at the bottom right of your screen on a computer or the buttons on the side of your tablet or phone, and adjust the volume.
There are links to the hymns on YouTube, you may get an advert – you can press skip ad on the right hand side of the video.
If the video continues to another song you can stop it by clicking on or tapping the video screen. If you regularly use YouTube you will also have a button called ‘Autoplay’ probably on the right hand side of the screen (not in the video) make sure that is set to off.
The words of the Bible reading and hymns are at the bottom of the page.
This week we are including a Bible story for children’s time, it is based on Luke 14:12-24.
It was created by Kidswise and is shared with their permission.

Isaiah 25:1-9
Lord, you are my God;
I will exalt you and praise your name,
for in perfect faithfulness
you have done wonderful things,
things planned long ago.
2 You have made the city a heap of rubble,
the fortified town a ruin,
the foreigners’ stronghold a city no more;
it will never be rebuilt.
3 Therefore strong peoples will honour you;
cities of ruthless nations will revere you.
4 You have been a refuge for the poor,
a refuge for the needy in their distress,
a shelter from the storm
and a shade from the heat.
For the breath of the ruthless
is like a storm driving against a wall
5 and like the heat of the desert.
You silence the uproar of foreigners;
as heat is reduced by the shadow of a cloud,
so the song of the ruthless is stilled.
6 On this mountain the Lord Almighty will prepare
a feast of rich food for all peoples,
a banquet of aged wine –
the best of meats and the finest of wines.
7 On this mountain he will destroy
the shroud that enfolds all peoples,
the sheet that covers all nations;
8 he will swallow up death for ever.
The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears
from all faces;
he will remove his people’s disgrace
from all the earth.
The Lord has spoken.
9 In that day they will say,
‘Surely this is our God;
we trusted in him, and he saved us.
This is the Lord, we trusted in him;
let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation.’
Luke 14:12-24
12 Then Jesus said to his host, ‘When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or sisters, your relatives, or your rich neighbours; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid. 13 But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, 14 and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.’
The parable of the great banquet
15 When one of those at the table with him heard this, he said to Jesus, ‘Blessed is the one who will eat at the feast in the kingdom of God.’
16 Jesus replied: ‘A certain man was preparing a great banquet and invited many guests. 17 At the time of the banquet he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited, “Come, for everything is now ready.”
18 ‘But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said, “I have just bought a field, and I must go and see it. Please excuse me.”
19 ‘Another said, “I have just bought five yoke of oxen, and I’m on my way to try them out. Please excuse me.”
20 ‘Still another said, “I have just got married, so I can’t come.”
21 ‘The servant came back and reported this to his master. Then the owner of the house became angry and ordered his servant, “Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame.”
22 ‘“Sir,” the servant said, “what you ordered has been done, but there is still room.”
23 ‘Then the master told his servant, “Go out to the roads and country lanes and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full. 24 I tell you, not one of those who were invited will get a taste of my banquet.”’
HYMN Mission Praise 237 ‘Holy, holy, holy’
1 Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee.
Holy, holy, holy! Merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!
2 Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore Thee,
casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea;
cherubim and seraphim falling down before Thee,
which wert, and art, and evermore shalt be.
3 Holy, holy, holy! Though the darkness hide Thee,
though the eye of sinful man thy glory may not see;
only Thou art holy, there is none beside Thee
perfect in power, in love, and purity.
4 Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
All Thy works shall praise Thy name in earth, and sky, and sea.
Holy, holy, holy! Merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!
HYMN ‘Come all you vagabonds’
Come, all you vagabonds,
Come all you ‘don’t belongs’
Winners and losers,
Come, people like me.
Come all you travellers
Tired from the journey,
Come wait a while, stay a while,
Welcome you’ll be.
Come all you questioners
Looking for answers,
And searching for reasons
And sense in it all;
Come all you fallen,
And come all you broken,
Find strength for your body
And food for your soul.
Come to the feast,
There is room at the table.
Come let us meet in this place.
With the King of all kindness
Who welcomes us in,
With the wonder of love,
And the power of grace.
The wonder of the love,
And the power of grace.
Come those who worry
‘Bout houses and money,
And all those who don’t have
A care in the world;
From every station
And orientation,
The helpless, the hopeless,
The young and the old.
Come to the feast,
There is room at the table.….
Come all believers
And dreamers and schemers,
And come all you restless
Just searching for home;
Movers and shakers
And givers and takers,
The happy, the sad
And the lost and alone.
Come self-sufficient
With wearied ambition,
And come those who feel
At the end of the road.
Fiery debaters
And religion haters,
Accusers, abusers,
The hurt and ignored.
Come to the feast,
There is room at the table
Come let us meet in this place.
With the King of all kindness
Who welcomes us in,
With the wonder of love,
And the power of grace.
The wonder of the love,
And the power of grace.

HYMN Mission Praise 799 ‘All I once held dear’
All I once held dear, built my life upon
All this world reveres, and wars to own
All I once thought gain I have counted loss
Spent and worthless now, compared to this
Knowing You, Jesus, knowing You,
There is no greater thing.
You’re my all, You’re the best
You’re my joy, my righteousness, And I love You, Lord
Now my heart’s desire is to know You more
To be found in You and known as yours
To possess by faith what I could not earn
All-surpassing gift of righteousness
Knowing You, Jesus, knowing you,
There is no greater thing.
You’re my all, you’re the best,
You’re my joy, my righteousness, And I love you, Lord.
Oh, to know the power of your risen life,
And to know You in Your sufferings,
To become like You in Your death, my Lord
So with You to live and never die.
Knowing You, Jesus, knowing You,
There is no greater thing.
You’re my all, You’re the best,
You’re my Joy, My Righteousness
You’re my all, You’re the best,
You’re my joy, my righteousness
You’re my all, You’re the best
You’re my joy, my righteousness.
You’re my all, You’re the best
You’re my joy, my righteousness, And I love You Lord.
